happy chinese new year !
im a little late. but its supposed to last for 15 days, so. i've lost count of the number of times i've lou hey-ed (how do you say it?). my cousin chris finally graced us with his presence. he's been living in boston for the last few years and refuses to come back! i guess i can understand. singapore is such a concrete jungle. no fresh air!
sab leen hui and i had our traditional visits-to-each-others-houses which we do every year. sabbie's place first, then eileen's (where we were soundly trashed by hui at card games). she won all our ang bao money dammit. she was probably feeling guilty and treated us to munchies later on. hee.
in a prior post, i mentioned the dance floor on channel5. now i wish i hadnt. eew? do people join these competitions to embarrass themselves on purpose?! of course there are a couple of good dancers here and there, but nothing to scream over. what a waste. i had quite looked forward to it. im glad they picked good hosts and judges for this show though. i was quite frightened they might use gurmit singh again. urgh. he just tries too hard. like the time he was about to announce the person eliminated from singapore idol. he went: "andddd that person is... oh let me scratch my chin! " apparently thats his idea of suspense. -deadpanned expression- everytime he speaks i flinch. and he actually thought it was funny. you could literally hear the crickets chirping in the audience's silence after he made that stupid crack. needless to say jacintha abishigenadan (i cant even spell it) is like paula abdul part 2. she's created a whole dictionary of words and sentences no one can understand. its humiliating, really. i should just stop watching all these shows, what am i doing to myself?!
